  • hey! beautiful pictures mark. I told the owners about your blog today and they looked at it while i was there. they loved it!
  • i think i just read about them in the Fishtown Star...or maybe the Spirit. I forget. looks cool. glad they sent back the link love!
  • cool! I've been wanting to check this place out since it opened. it looks so adorable from the outside.
  • A beautiful and relaxing place to enjoy a cup of tea. The scones are to die for!
  • This place looks very cool indeed. I've been travelling a lot recently - Dubai, Cyprus, Crete, Turkey - and in each country they do tea and coffee so differently... I've been thinking about how cool it would be to have a tea room-cum-coffee shop focused on serving up teas and coffees from around the world, nothing fancy, don't need no tea or coffee sommelier or anything, just focused on serving tea/coffee the way they do locally, everywhere from India to Morocco, Argentina to Turkey, you name it... none of that starbucks crap... what do you think?
  • Cool pic of the sugar cubes by the way!
  • Thanks, Lara! Yeah, that's an awesome idea. Instead of americanizing the daily coffee/tea ritual, bring it back to the traditional ways of imbibing. Would be very cool indeed.

Actually, there's a very cool tea house in Chinatown in Philly that serves tea in a very traditional Chinese way. They *might* have closed, but it's on 9th and Arch, I believe. I'll post about it if I find the name again.
  • Yum, this place warms my belly just thinking about it. Mark I'd love to post on this - mind if we use your images?
  • Go for it, Janelle! :)
  • i could be wrong, but i think it's the same people who have the amazing teahouse on the downtown mall in charlottesville? either way, super awesome.

(maybe i just subconsciously miss charlottesville?)
  • Mmmm, that chai looks delicious! Intelligent Travel sends you link love, Poverty Jet Set!

  • that looks delicious right now.
  • I agree 100%. The Chai is magnificent. The Random Tea Room is 2nd favorite place in Philly. (1st place Love Park in spring.) Becky is a wonderful person, Jor really is "The Tea Master", Meade is the mellow fellow, Anne is always making me laugh, and I just love Izzy! Try the Hojichi, mmmmm!
  • Thanks, Ashid - yeah, I totally love this place.
