The Chai is magnificent. The Random Tea Room is 2nd favorite place in Philly. (1st place Love Park in spring.) Becky is a wonderful person, Jor really is "The Tea Master", Meade is the mellow fellow, Anne is always making me laugh, and I just love Izzy! Try the Hojichi, mmmmm!

Re: New Northern Liberties Tea Shop

that looks delicious right now.

Re: New Northern Liberties Tea Shop

Mmmm, that chai looks delicious! Yeah, that's an awesome idea. Instead of americanizing the daily coffee/tea ritual, bring it back to the traditional ways of imbibing. Would be very cool indeed.

Actually, there's a very cool tea house in Chinatown in Philly that serves tea in a very traditional Chinese way. They *might* have closed, but it's on 9th and Arch, I believe. I'll post about it if I find the name again.

Re: New Northern Liberties Tea Shop

Cool pic of the sugar cubes by the way!

Re: New Northern Liberties Tea Shop

This place looks very cool indeed. I've been travelling a lot recently - Dubai, Cyprus, Crete, Turkey - and in each country they do tea and coffee so differently... I've been thinking about how cool it would be to have a tea room-cum-coffee shop focused on serving up teas and coffees from around the world, nothing fancy, don't need no tea or coffee sommelier or anything, just focused on serving tea/coffee the way they do locally, everywhere from India to Morocco, Argentina to Turkey, you name it... none of that starbucks crap... what do you think?

Re: New Northern Liberties Tea Shop

A beautiful and relaxing place to enjoy a cup of tea.
